Net Zero Accreditation - Net Zero

Accreditation Stage Four - Net Zero

Net Zero accreditation is awarded to organisations that have made deep, verified cuts to their emissions and can credibly demonstrate that what remains is being neutralised through the highest quality carbon removal. This is not a badge for aspirations it is a recognition of achievement.

How we assess it

Our panel applies the most stringent assessment at this stage, cross-referencing submissions against the SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standard, the Oxford Principles on Net Zero Aligned Offsetting, and ISO 14068-1:2023. Independent third-party verification of your carbon footprint is a requirement.

What we look for

  • A verified, independently assessed carbon footprint demonstrating a minimum 90% absolute reduction in Scope 1, 2 and material Scope 3 emissions against your baseline year
  • Clear, auditable evidence that reductions are the result of genuine operational changes
  • Residual emissions neutralised exclusively through high-quality carbon removal credits -not avoidance credits
  • Carbon removal credits from verified providers meeting the most stringent quality and permanence standards
  • A validated long-term net zero target aligned with 1.5°C science-based pathways
  • Board level climate governance and active supply chain engagement on emissions reduction
  • A Carbon Reduction and/or Climate Action Plan that meets the full requirements of PPN 006 (Procurement Act 2023)

Net Zero is one of the most rigorous accreditations available to SMEs. By requiring carbon removal and independent verification, it is designed to be meaningful in the face of growing greenwashing scrutiny from procurement teams, investors, and the public alike. It aligns with the SBTi Corporate Net Zero Standards (2021), ISO 14068-1:2023, and the Oxford Principles.
