Net Zero Accreditation - Processing

Accreditation Stage Three - Progressing

Progressing is for organisations that have achieved comprehensive emissions measurement across all scopes and are taking credible steps to offset what they cannot yet eliminate. This stage goes significantly beyond compliance requirements and is designed to withstand rigorous supply chain and stakeholder scrutiny.

How we assess it

Submissions at this stage are reviewed against the GHG Protocol Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard across all 15 categories, the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) criteria, and recognised carbon credit quality standards. Our panel assesses both the completeness of your footprint and the integrity of your offsetting approach.

What we look for

  • A complete Scope 1, 2 and 3 carbon footprint, with all Upstream Scope 3 categories assessed for materiality
  • Full quantification of all material emission sources, with documented justification for any exclusions
  • A Carbon Reduction and/or Climate Action Plan that meets the full requirements of PPN 006 (Procurement Act 2023)
  • Evidence of offsetting (using verified carbon avoidance/removal credits) and or evidence of support for a bonified nature restoration project

Progressing is designed for organisations that want to go beyond the minimum and build a genuinely defensible position. It aligns with ISO emerging standards and the UK Government’s net zero transition framework, positioning your organisation well for enhanced supply chain due diligence requirements and evolving procurement standards.
